Each Moutet tea towel is a small work of French textile art. The designs range from Paris cafés and Basque fishermen to New York dog walkers and Picasso’s dove. Every one is created by Moutet’s in-house artists or by collaborating French designers, and each reads like an illustration you can use every day.
What makes them special is the weave. Moutet uses a jacquard loom, which builds the design into the fabric thread by thread rather than printing it on the surface. That gives each towel a subtle raised texture, crisp graphic detail, and colors that won’t fade or peel.
The towels are woven from 100% cotton, so they are soft to the touch, highly absorbent, and strong enough to use as an everyday kitchen or dish towel. They get softer with every wash. They’re also beautiful enough to hang on display, and as a reusable alternative to paper towels, they bring sustainable style to any kitchen.

About Moutet Tissage
The Moutet story began in 1874 in Orthez, in the Béarn region of South-West France, and the family has woven textiles there since 1919. Now in its fifth generation, the house combines Basque weaving heritage with bold contemporary design, and it is recognized by the French government as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company). Every piece is still woven in Orthez, on the banks of the Gave de Pau.
