The Man Behind the Brand
Dom De Vetta founded Shay & Blue in London in 2012. He is a veteran of quality fragrance with most of his twenty-year career spent in the world of perfume — a former Senior Vice President at Chanel, and the Global General Manager of Jo Malone London.
After two decades inside the world's most prestigious fragrance houses, De Vetta had a clear sense of what was missing. Fragrance should be honest, beautiful, and accessible to everyone who loves scent — no intimidating boutiques, no snobbish sales assistants, just exceptional fragrances crafted with integrity.
The name itself is personal: Shay was his grandmother's name. And who doesn't love the colour blue.
Handcrafted in London, Built on Real Ingredients
Working with perfumer Julie Massé — known simply as "the nose" — De Vetta set out to uphold the age-old traditional craft of fine perfumery, seeking out skilled artisans who work with real flowers, fruit, and spices rather than the synthetic fillers that dominate mass-market fragrance.
Each bottle is produced in small batches, with perfumers working out of a London atelier, blending and bottling scents by hand — a rarity in today's automated perfume industry. Every fragrance is certified clean, vegan, and cruelty-free, with no parabens, phthalates, or dyes. The packaging is recyclable. The ingredients are responsibly sourced.
The collection launched with Blood Oranges, Sicilian Limes, and Atropa Belladonna — and Blood Oranges quickly got picked up on fashion shoots and shows all over London, winning awards and becoming a must-have. The brand has been growing steadily ever since, one beautifully made bottle at a time.
